The Consortium for Mathematics and Its
Applications (COMAP). The organization to join
for modeling resources. Membership includes several free resources on mathematical
modeling and a fine magazine, Consortium. They produce excellent books,
texts, lessons, and videos.
Contemporary Precalculus
Through Applications. The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
Everyday Learning. A fine text or resource on functions, data modeling,
and mathematical modeling.
Precalculus: A
Modeling Approach. Driscoll, Patrick and David Olwell. McGraw-Hill,
Boston, 1998. This text contains many interesting exercises and data
sets and does a fine job using the language of modeling and discussing modeling
habits. Chapter Three, "Modeling Concepts", is a valuable discussion
of modeling considerations.
